Who We Are
Sentinel Data Recovery LLC is a local, veteran owned data recovery and computer hardware services business based in the Hampton Roads (757) area of Virginia, providing hands-on recovery of personal and business data from failed, damaged, or inaccessible storage media — including hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), flash drives, SD/memory cards, and the internal storage of laptops, phones, and tablets. In addition to data recovery, Sentinel offers hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic repair — component replacement, internal cleaning, and performance diagnostics — for desktops and laptops, broadening the business beyond failure-driven recovery into ongoing PC care and maintenance.
The business is built around convenience and trust: customers can drop off their device at a designated location, schedule a pickup at their residence, or meet at another agreed-upon location — there is currently no mail-in or shipping option for hardware. Every data recovery engagement begins with a flat $45 diagnostic assessment; if recovery is possible and the customer chooses to proceed, that fee is applied toward the total cost of service rather than charged separately. Hardware troubleshooting, repair, and PC/laptop diagnostic services are quoted and billed under their own fee schedule which is located on our webpage under pricing.
Once recovery is complete, customers choose what happens to their original hardware — keep it, have it responsibly disposed of, or donate it to a local charity — with Sentinel Data Recovery facilitating the logistics of either option. Recovered data is returned in whichever way works best for the customer: copied onto an external drive they provide, uploaded to a cloud service of their own choosing, or uploaded to a cloud account created by Sentinel on their behalf, complete with step-by-step instructions for accessing the account and changing the password. Strict chain-of-custody handling and confidentiality practices are maintained throughout.
Sentinel Data Recovery's competitive advantage is convenience, transparency, and a real local point of contact — a stronger value proposition for the Hampton Roads market than mail-in national labs with multi-week turnarounds, and a broader one-stop offering than shops that handle only repairs or only recovery.
